Artist: Slim Aarons
A vision of perfect tropical seclusion is captured in Private Island Philippines, a classic 1973 photograph by the celebrated Slim Aarons. Taken on a private beach owned by Philippine Airlines President Benigno Toda Jr., the scene is the epitome of carefree leisure. Guests relax under thatched umbrellas on pristine white sand, while the turquoise sea stretches out towards a distant mountain range. A lone speedboat cuts across the water, the only sign of activity in this otherwise peaceful haven. It is a definitive glimpse into the kind of exclusive, sun-drenched world that Slim Aarons made his signature.
