HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Counter Stool Roumier reflects the opulence of a French armchair from 1788 in The Met collection. The original was one of 16 armchairs commissioned from the master chairmaker Georges Jacob (French, 1739–1814) for Louis XVI’s gaming room at Saint Cloud. Our dining chair celebrates the neoclassical elegance and meticulous artisanship of Jacob’s designs.
