SLIM AARONS

Slim Aarons was born in Manhattan, New York in 1916. He enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18 and served as a combat photographer during World War II. After the war, he moved to California and started his iconic career. Slim Aarons was known for photographing celebrities, socialites and jetsetters in beautiful locations, notably describing his work as “photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places”. He never used a stylist or make-up artist. His work features tropical locations, gorgeous beaches, decadent swimming pools, expensive cars, ski resorts and exclusive parties. They also include the rich and famous, including people like Salvador Dalí, Clark Gable, Jackie Kennedy, Joan Collins and many, many more.
